The Chiefs take on the Detroit Lions at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday, Oct. 12.
Taylor Swift has been vocal about how much she enjoys cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs ever since she began dating Travis Kelce in the summer of 2023.
In her TIME 2023 Person of the Year interview, she explained, “When you say a relationship is public, that means I’m going to see him do what he loves, we’re showing up for each other — other people are there and we don’t care.”
She also took a subtle swipe at her much more private six-year relationship with ex Joe Alwyn, adding, “The opposite of that is having to go to extreme lengths to make sure no one knows you’re seeing someone. We’re just proud of each other.”
All that said, the Life of a Showgirl singer has kept a pretty low profile, all things considered, during the 2025-2026 season so far (and it’s been a pretty rough one for Kelce and the Chiefs overall).
Swift, 35, skipped the Chiefs’ last game against the Jacksonville Jaguars at EverBank Stadium on Monday, Oct. 6, 2025 — and even when she’s been present at games this season, cameras have rarely caught her in the stands.
There’s a good chance she’ll show up for today’s matchup — Sunday, Oct. 12, 2025 — since it’s a home game in Kansas City for Kelce, 36, and his team. That also means the “Actually Romantic” singer can enjoy the higher level of security and privacy she’s used to.

Is Taylor Swift likely attending the Chiefs game today (Oct. 12, 2025)?
There’s a strong possibility. Since it’s a home game in Kansas City, she can rely on heightened security & privacy. Though she’s skipped recent games and hasn’t been frequently caught in stands this season, the home-game environment makes attendance more feasible.
Why has Taylor kept a relatively low profile at Chiefs games this season?
Even though Taylor has openly supported Travis Kelce since summer 2023, she seems selectively visible. Cameras rarely catch her, and she’s opted out of certain matchups (e.g. the Oct. 6 game vs. Jacksonville). It may be her balancing public support and personal privacy.
What did she say about public vs. private relationships in her TIME interview?
In her 2023 TIME Person of the Year interview, Taylor said a “public” relationship means showing up for each other regardless of observers. She contrasted that with previous experiences where she “had to go to extreme lengths” to keep a relationship secret. Exact quote: “When you say a relationship is public, … we’re showing up for each other … The opposite of that is having to go to extreme lengths … We’re just proud of each other.”
Does this behavior represent a change from her prior relationship style?
Yes — she seems more openly supportive now. Previously, during her six-year relationship with Joe Alwyn, she kept things much more private. With Travis Kelce, she’s more willing to be seen publicly, speak about support, and reject secrecy.
Has she ever publicly attended games before this season?
Yes — since she started dating Kelce in 2023, she’s been visible at various Chiefs games. Her presence has been a part of public narrative around their relationship. But this season she’s more selective.
