If you’re the kind of person who loves to stay organized on your phone, this one’s for you. Google has finally improved how Google Keep and Google Tasks work together — and it’s about time.

Most Android users know the deal: Keep is the go-to for jotting down notes or saving quick ideas, while Tasks is perfect for managing your to-do lists. But even though both apps carry the Google badge, they’ve never really talked to each other well — until now.

A long-awaited update finally rolls out

Google actually announced this integration back in April 2024, but the rollout took a while to show up for everyone. Now, the company says it’s moving fast. The update is being released under Google’s Rapid Release program, and all users should get it within 15 days from October 13.

What’s changing

Here’s the big win: Reminders you set in Google Keep will now automatically appear in Google Tasks — and also sync with Google Calendar.

That means no more jumping between apps to manage reminders or checklists. Everything’s in one place, whether you’re making a grocery list in Keep or tracking deadlines in Tasks.

A small change, big convenience

This update may seem small, but it’s a step toward making Google’s ecosystem work more smoothly together. With Google’s Gemini AI expanding across its products — including Calendar and even Google TV — this tighter app integration is part of a larger effort to make all Google tools feel connected.

How to get it

You can update your Google Keep and Google Tasks apps right now to see if the rollout has hit your device. If not, it should appear soon.

For those using a Google Workspace account, check with your admin to make sure the new features are enabled. And while you’re at it, stay alert — Google’s been warning about new Gmail phishing scams targeting user accounts, so updating your password might be a good idea.
