Google announced on Thursday that Pakistani students of age 18 and above will be able to gain access to a free one-year subscription to its AI Pro plan.

In a company press release, it was announced that the new offer aims to help students “boost their learning, research, and creativity using advanced AI tools — completely free of charge.”

With the Gemini AI Pro Plan, students gain access to Google’s top-tier AI capabilities, including the Gemini 2.5 Pro model — the company’s most powerful version. This unlocks features like Deep Research, designed to support academic work, research projects, and creative tasks.

Gemini is also available in Google Apps, “bringing AI assistance directly into Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Meet, helping students summarise emails, create study presentations, and analyse data more efficiently”.

Students will also get access to NotebookLM, Google’s personalized AI-driven research and writing assistant, along with expanded limits on creative tools that turn text or photos into videos — including Veo 3 in Gemini and Flow.

The offer further provides 2 terabytes of cloud storage across Google Drive, Gmail, and Photos, giving students plenty of secure space for notes, assignments, and other academic materials.

“This initiative is part of Google’s wider mission to equip every student with AI tools that foster learning and creativity,” the press release stated, noting that the plan is now available in several Asia-Pacific countries, including Pakistan.

It invited eligible university students to sign up to get free access for up to a year
