Battlefield 6 shatters records with over 600,000 players at launch, marking a massive start for the franchise’s newest entry. |
Battlefield 6 has officially dropped — and with over half a million players flooding the servers, it’s already shattered the franchise’s previous player count records.
Right now, SteamDB reports that Battlefield 6 has blown past 606,335 concurrent players on Steam alone. Just twenty minutes earlier, that number hovered around 347,000—so yeah, it’s climbing fast.
To put that in perspective, the franchise’s previous Steam record holders weren’t even close. Battlefield V peaked at 116,104, and Battlefield 2042 hit 107,376. In a matter of minutes, Battlefield 6 has more than quadrupled both—and it’s still gaining momentum.
battlefield 6 servers
Battlefield 6 just launched, and within moments its servers were packed—hundreds of thousands of players scrambling to jump into the chaos.
Even IGN found itself stuck in the queues on October 10, as the team at Battlefield Studios tried to hold the line against a tidal wave of eager players.
Less than an hour after Battlefield 6 went live, it had already hit a jaw-dropping 606,000 concurrent players on Steam. And that’s just one platform—since Microsoft and Sony keep their Xbox and PlayStation stats under wraps, the real number of players online right now is likely far higher.
EA issued a statement saying it anticipated many players logging in at the same time at launch, and had added a queue system for this “peak” moment.
“A short update on login queues as we prepare for the launch of Battlefield 6 later today,” reads the statement.
“Battlefield 6 launches today at 15:00 UTC and we anticipate many of you to login at the same time during this initial moment.
“To help ensure a smooth and stable login experience for everyone, we’re adding a queue system during this and other peak moments.
“Thanks for your patience as we launch Battlefield 6!”
In a more recent statement, EA said it was letting as many players in as it could, so queues should be "relatively short."
"With the game now live, many of you are jumping in at the same time," EA said. "To help keep things smooth and stable for everyone, login queues are active during this peak launch moment. We're letting as many of you in as we can, so queues should be relatively short. Steam users please note that if the “Play” button does not show, restarting the Steam client will resolve this issue. Thanks for your patience, and enjoy the launch of Battlefield 6!"
